I just made this tonight for the first time. I was looking for recipes to use up my excess of cabbage. This is. Polish recipe and since I’m half Polish I thought I’d give it a try. Glad I did. Very rich with all the butter.
2 1/2 C ham, cubed
2 C while onion chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 pounds cabbage, bite-sized pieces
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon olive oil
8 Tablespoons butter, divided
1 teaspoon black pepper
12 ounces of dry egg noodles.
Over medium high heat, cook ham in 3 Tablespoons butter
Add 2 Tablespoons butter, onions, garlic – cook 2 minutes
Add cabbage, oil, salt and pepper. Mix, cover, reduce heat to medium. Cook 8-10 minutes
Cook noodles according to package, drain
Add noodles and remaining 2 Tablespoons of butter
