Resolutions

The new year is upon us and folks will begin starting their resolutions.

I’ve never been a fan of resolutions. I’ve always felt that if you really wanted to make a change in your life that the turn of calendar wasn’t going to help.

State your goals, yes.
Have a focus, yes.
Try something new, yes.

But these can be done anytime of the year.

I think most resolutions fail. Too much pressure. Too much of an absolute.

If you’re moving forward you’re making progress. Even if it’s three steps forward, one step back. You’ve still moved ahead.

What’s your view on resolutions?

  1. I love making the resolutions, the key is not to take them seriously. One of mine was to read more books this year, I used to be an avid reader and really love reading. All through the year I kept telling myself I need to get back into the habit, but never did anything about it. Then comes the “magic”of New Year’s Resolutions and mine was to read daily…..the first four days of Jan I read on two days, only an hour each….and on it goes.😂
