Zero Dark Thirty

This movie is most assuredly difficult to watch in some scenes. But the tell-it-like-it-is style of director Kathryn Bigelow is worth some squirming in your seat.

You may also remember Bigelow directing another gritty movie The Hurt Locker.

Starring Jessica Chastain in a compelling role as an U.S. operative who worked on finding Osama bin Laden (OBL).

Not in the above the title credits is Jennifer Ehle who works with Chadtain’s character to hunt down OBL. Ehle is a brilliant and chameleon character actor. You may or may not remember her from her role in the King’s Speech as Lionel Logue’s wife.

Other actors of note are Mark Strong and Jason Clarke.

This film is now about eight years old but no less compelling account of a volatile point in history.

Top marks for this film on acting, story telling and intensity.
