1917

This is an amazing movie.  Directed by Sam Mendes, it tells a story in war-time France of two British soldiers.

Based on true stories from Mendes’ great grandfather and others, we watch these two young men carry urgent orders across no-man’s land and the German front lines.

The way they shot the film is impressive.  One camera.  No cutting.  Following and pulling the view of the soldiers.

Director of Photography, Roger Deakins has done simply brilliant work in this movie which he won an Academy Award for.  Well deserved.

War is more than people dying.  It’s about bravery.  It’s about real people and their stories.  This is an excellent one.
